Spatial4j
General purpose geospatial library for Java, a LocationTech project.
Apache-2.0
About
Spatial4j is a Java library whose core capabilities are shape types that work in both Euclidean and geodesic (on-sphere) world models, distance and area calculations, and reading and writing WKT and GeoJSON. It provides grid-based spatial indexes such as geohash and custom cell sizes, and is used inside projects including Elasticsearch, Apache Lucene and Netty. It is a LocationTech project of the Eclipse Foundation, alongside GeoTools.
Features
- Shapes for Euclidean and geodesic models
- Distance, area and bearing calculations
- WKT and GeoJSON reading and writing
