Apache Sedona extends distributed computing systems such as Apache Spark and Apache Flink with spatial types, indexes, and processing functions. It offers spatial SQL and APIs for Python, Java, Scala, and R across large vector and raster datasets. Current releases also provide GeoPandas-compatible operations and support for Snowflake spatial workloads.
