About
Pandana is a Python library that indexes a pedestrian or driving network with contraction hierarchies and answers shortest-path and accessibility queries against dataframes, with the numerical core in C++. A typical use is counting how many amenities or transit stops sit within a given walking time or distance for every point in a grid. UDST now keeps it in LTS/compatibility mode, with new general-purpose network work happening in the Pandarm successor project.
Features
- Contraction hierarchies for fast path queries
- Shortest paths and lengths computed in C++
- Counts nearby amenities within travel time
- Accepts pedestrian or driving networks
- Vectorized multi-threaded route calculation
- Maintained in LTS mode by UDST
